Aaron A. Gallup (1945-1992) was best known throughout his career as a photographer and lecturer on the subject of California architecture. Gallup grew up in Wilton, CA, near Elk Grove, and graduated from UC Berkeley in 1966. His post-collegiate employment took him to Idaho, as U.S. National Park Service Ranger at the Craters of the Moon, where he stayed for two years.
